Fundraising

- As Grant Writer/Program Developer at the Office for Diversity and Academic Success in the Sciences (ODASIS), Erika Vela was successful in bringing in the following five grants to the organization:

1. Citizenship and Service Education (CASE, now known as CESEP):
$1,800 in 2006 & $2,800 in 2007;
2. The African American Fund of New Jersey: $5,000 in 2008;
3. Hoffman-La Roche Inc.: $10,000 in 2008;
4. Sanofi-Aventis: $47,499 in 2008; and
5. Johnson & Johnson: 21 laptop computers in 2008.

- To strengthen ODASIS' alumni relations and bring in more funding to the organization for supplemental programs, Ms. Vela managed the design and content of the ODASIS alumni contribution campaign that raised well over $5,000. The campaign consisted of letters to ODASIS alumni that attended the organization's annual dinner for graduating students as well as ODASIS alumni that were unable to attend. The letters were accompanied by a categorization of specific ODASIS programs and scholarships that alumni could support and an ODASIS Contribution Form that verified the alumni contributions as tax-deductible, all which Ms. Vela created. Logos (For more logo samples, please contact us directly.)

- The Latino Festival of Monmouth County (LFOMC) invited Evela to design a logo that would represent the organization as its audience and donor bases increased. The overall design of the LFOMC logo needed to promote the LFOMC's celebratory theme and emphasize cultural assimilation in the US. After researching the logo market for organizations of similar standing, Evela presented to the LFOMC Executive Committee a portfolio of six logo concepts with corresponding marketing points. From those initial concepts, the Committee chose one to further discuss and revise. View the final LFOMC logo here.
